About Me

Hello, and welcome to my portfolio! My name is Matt Hill, and I am passionate about technology, cybersecurity, and helping others. I am currently completing my Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity at Full Sail University, building upon my previous education in Networking and Information Systems Security. My goal is to combine my technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and dedication to service to build a rewarding career in cybersecurity, helping organizations protect their systems, data, and people from evolving digital threats.

My journey has taught me the value of perseverance, resilience, and continuous learning. As a power wheelchair user, I have faced challenges that have strengthened my determination and adaptability. Rather than allowing obstacles to define me, I focus on finding solutions, setting goals, and moving forward. These experiences have shaped my work ethic and reinforced my belief that challenges are growth opportunities. As I often remind myself, “I don’t let obstacles define my path—I let determination, resilience, and continuous learning drive my success.”

In addition to my passion for cybersecurity, I am also an entrepreneur. Since July 2022, I have operated Matt’s Fire Scents as an Independent Scentsy Fragrance Consultant. Through this business, I have developed skills in customer service, marketing, communication, relationship-building, and small-business management. This experience has strengthened my ability to connect with people, solve problems, and remain adaptable in a constantly changing environment.

Outside of work and school, I enjoy 3D printing, exploring new technologies, reading, gaming, and spending time outdoors. I am proud to call Spokane home and appreciate everything the Pacific Northwest has to offer—from its scenic mountains, rivers, and forests to its strong sense of community and outdoor lifestyle. The beauty and spirit of the region inspire me to continue pursuing both personal and professional growth.

One quote that resonates with me comes from entrepreneur Robert Herjavec: “It is human nature, especially as we get older, to look for stability in our lives. But if you want to be a successful entrepreneur, you have to fight that somewhat, because starting a business requires action. You cannot stay still.” This mindset reflects my approach to life—always learning, growing, and looking for new opportunities to challenge myself.
